April Showers brings Mayflowers!

So the other day I was bored or at least avoiding doing other things so I decided to go downtown and take some pictures of the pretty flowers!!

 A nice old man walking thru thought I wanted my picture taken... so he offered and I couldn't say no.. yikes I hate pictures of myself!

Spring Blues...

Somehow I made it all thru respiratory season without getting sick but now I have some stomach bug!!  YUCK!!  I hate being sick anyway and this bug has been around way too long!!  I have maxed out my tolerance for watching every tv show on the internet... and trust me that is a lot, and most of them are really stupid... I am amazed at what tv shows are making it?... So then I resorted to older tv shows on youtube... and am know burned out from tv for about 5 years!! I have even seen every Little House on the Prairie episode ever made in the last week... that is how bored I am!!  Unfortunately every time I decide I can't handle it anymore I get up and do something productive for about 5 minutes and then I feel beat and take a 2 hour nap... haha oh well it could totally be worse!  So since I need some peace and quiet I am going to update my blog with pictures I have been taking on my iphone lately.

 

This first picture was sent by my sister Melanie.. little Ellie.. I thought it was very descriptive for how I feel too!! Don't be offended by her dislike of the U... I'm sure she feels the same about BYU.

 The annual Special Needs Mutual play!!  Cute nieces with their grandparents!!

 We had a day of showers!!  We gave one to my cousin in the morning and one of my closest friends in the afternoon!!  It meant cleaning the house only once!!

 Notice anything weird about the way Ellie is strapped in?  It may not have been done correctly... Didn't seem like she minded having all the straps on one side of her body...

 

 Haha apparently this bike trailer is heavy when you are headed straight uphill...

 And this is what I'm doing... eating nothing but pure clear liquids (and maybe several exceptions)... which is hard!!! I'm totally a hypocrite to those sick kids we see with the same symptoms.. oh well I've paid for all the non liquid things I've eaten...

Spring Storms!

So last night a wind storm blew in.. literally hehe I am so funny! Anyways so I don't want to do anything productive today because I just want to cozy in and listen to the wind rattle the windows.  Last night I officially ran the oven for an entire cleaning cycle!!  I have never actually made it through before because I cannot stand the nasty smell!!  But last night I was determined to make it through because I don't want to have to do it in the summer... fingers crossed that we don't cook again until the fall! (or I guess that was just don't spill anything in the oven?)  Anyway I opened my window so the air wouldn't settle in the house and make it smell so bad.  And I loved listening to the wind bluster through the neighborhood... I only had the window open like 2 cm but sometimes the gusts would be so strong that they would blow everything in my room around!!  It was awesome and I just laid in my bed reading a book and listening to the wind!! So awesome!  However, because I had my window open and the oven was 6 million degrees I turned the heat off... so when I woke up it was freezing and I had to really convince myself to get up... it was quite the fight actually... which apparently I am still fighting at 2PM since I'm still in my jammies..  Anyway from that long story... I took a picture of my new reading corner!!  Another long story made short... I wanted a chair for my room to read in and I went shopping and didn't find anything until I realized that I liked the one in my living room so I moved that one up and bough a new living room set.  So instead of spending a little for one chair... I bought a chair, ottoman and a loveseat couch... Yeah I'm thrifty!  So I guess I didn't take a picture of the corner I took a picture of my view out my window because it is the only bit of grass that I can see... so I like to look out and watch the little tiny cows in the distance graze.. makes me feel like I don't live in a sea of houses.. even though I do!

 

Yes it got to be REALLY cold... a frigid 62!

This is another important thing in my life... my kitchen sink named Clyde!! Yes I did name the sink.. because it is so much blasted effort to get it clean! He has again been spotted in the kitchen!  Keeping the sink is somehow really difficult and it is the thing that I just can't seem to get the hang of.  We'll just say that Clyde hasn't been seen in my house in quite some time... unfortunately Clyde is normally ignored... and happens to have rotten food thrown at him daily.  I needed to take a picture of the beautiful sink to remind me that it actually can be clean!!

Well I guess I can't sit around anymore today.. I'm actually going to have to get busy and do something...

General Conference at the Cabin!

So it is that time of year again... April Conference!  Which means we all get to head up to my parents cabin for a weekend off out in the woods!!  I look forward to these weekends the rest of the year because they are so peaceful and it is just fun to be together without having to worry about all the other things going on!!

 

They are doing constructions on the road up so I had to stop and wait for a minute... but the sky is soo blue and the grass is green so I took a picture while I waited!!

 

Just some random pictures I took all around the cabin... unfortunately (or not...) it was raining the entire weekend.. so not much sunshine.  But I really love storms, especially thunderstorms so it wasn't that bad.  The cabin is obviously behind weather wise... so it isn't quite as much spring there as it is at home.

I waited all weekend but nobody ever lit the pile on fire... too bad it would be a sight to see!

 

 We always do a sister's craft on Saturday night when they guys are at priesthood meeting... this year we painted canvases!!

 

The creek is in full force... meaning the reservoir will be full soon!!

 

 I love spring skies!!  You can tell it is warming up by the fluffy white clouds!!

Baby Avery definitely has some teeth now!

This squirrel was trying really hard to watch conference with us... unfortunately we may have scared him off by taking pictures of him... hem hem...

It was spring break for Alana so she got to come up for a bit!

My dad would ride the bike up the hill so Alana could ride it down.. pretty good system! (wish I had thought of that when I was her age!)

Alana was my official tour guide and took me on several hikes through the woods.. 

 

Ellie was taking a nap pretty much the whole time that I was there with them... so this was one of the only pictures I got of her... she had just fallen in the snow and was cold so not many smiles..

It was a nice relaxing weekend and conference was wonderful... although I am definitely going to have to review some of it as I was a little distracted by the backs of my eyelids!
